Founded in 1888 in the wild landscapes of Jura, eastern France, Julbo designs, manufactures eyewear and protection products for outdoor sports enthusiasts, from extreme disciplines to everyday life. - The founder Jules Baud started designing optical eyewear with one idea in mind: INNOVATION
- Design for high quality optical for Chamonix crystal hunters wanting to protect their eyes in mountains. Then he designed the first “Cristalliers” sunglasses
1888
The first Glacier sunglasses
Julbo revolutionized the market with the introduction of “Vermont”, mountaineers could now ascend summits with proper eye protection. The “glacier” sunglasses marked the start of climbing’ s glory years, as mountaineers set out to conquer the highest peak in the world.
1950
Tested many times up to >8000m mountains
Tested many times by technical advisor Yannick Seigneur who took the sunglasses up to 8000ers including Everest, Makalu, K2.
1970
Fluorescent Fun Decade….Faster, Higher & Wilder
Julbo continued to support mountaineers to climb higher and faster.

Best Sun Protection for our Little Heros
Support our little ones to take the first sporting steps on their adventures
Julbo expanded its expertise to our Littie Heros and introduce the Baby and children range, offering outstanding protection for the delicate eyes of children.

RX Advanced Solutions
Julbo revolutionized the world of sunglasses, all wearers of prescription eyewear could now live their sport to the fullest with the first Julbo 100% prescription sunglasses.
